HP Scanjet 4850

It is not possible for me to install the software for a HP Scanjet 4850. I
have tried with 3 Pc's - all running WinXPpro SP2. It is a problem with the
MSIinstaller and the software for the scanner. Error code 0x800401F0,
event-id 1015. HP can't help me.

What can I do?

How are you trying to install it?
Do you have administrative rights on the computers?

Go to MS site and get the Uninstaller for Installer. Then install the
Installer again.

Make sure you have the installer too. You'll probably have to install it
again as the cleanup utility that I called uninstaller uninstalls it in my
experience.
