Help !
The last thing that happened on the screen was: ScanDisk running.
Everything was okay before, now there is no more Windows as it was. When U
click on to resume Windows is last known good configuration - nothing
happens. It'll not allow U to go into Recovery or anything.
Windows XP is the operating system.
The owner of the pc has a new one on order. Is there anything that can be
done to get anymore use out of the sick pc ?
Also: will file transfer be possible using transfer cable & software be
possible ?

Much Thanks in Advance for Any Help Given.

Yes: Reload Windows and all applications.

Yes. The usual method is by restoring files and folders from
backup (which it seems the owner of the PC does not
believe in, making your work much harder and probably
much more lucrative). There are other methods too, e.g.
- Connect the disk as a slave disk to some other PC.
- Install the disk in an external USB case.
- Boot the machine with a Bart PE boot CD and copy
the data to a USB disk or to a networked PC.
