how do you stop a scandisk that runs when windows starts
up? I know you and press the esc key and it skip it at
the start up, but it still will try to run at the next
start up.

There is no "scandisk" in NTx OSs.

Depending on the OS, try at a cmd prompt
chkntfs /?

But if autochk is running every boot there is usually a good reason for
it that should be determined. Stopping Autochk may be counter
productive.
