scandisk starts suddenly

I would like to stop scandisk which ís starting all by
itself and making me lose my work

when does it start all by itself?

how does it make you lose your work, ive never heard of that?

is it scheduled to run at a certain time each day?

First, there is no Scandisk in XP. Second, if Chkdsk is running
randomly, then your hard drive is probably failing. Back up your data
and prepare to get a new one. You can download a hard drive diagnostic
utility from the mftr.
