scandisk disappeared

cannot find scandisk. it is not in the system tools file.
it just flat disappeared one day

Windows XP has a "Checkdisk" error-checking utility that replaced
the old "Scandisk" utility in previous versions of Windows.

Do you mean check disk? Click start-- my computer--right click the hard
drive--select properties--then tools tab. In XP scandisk has been replaced by
chkdsk.
