I'm in dire need to run a scan disc on my windows XP
operating system but they seem to have changed it's
location since windows 98, anyone know where I can find
it?

Hi

From a command prompt type "chkdsk /?" - without the quotes.

Name change and method change. Now is Checkdisk found via
C:\WINDOWS\system32\chkdsk.exe. Type "chkdsk" (no quotation marks) in
Run... on Start button or go to it with above path on drive C.

Best to run it from the command line interace box (Start/Run/cmd, then
enter chkdsk).

A correction: there was no "name change" that changed scandisk to
chkdsk. Scandisk has never existed in the NT architecture; it has
always been Chkdsk.

Duly noted. I honestlyknew nothing about NT as I am an old Windows 95 user
and that is what it was called in there. Frankly, I wish I had it back :(
