EXTRA TO MY LAST REQUEST FOR HELP.
I AM RUNNING XPHOME ON A MEDION COMPUTER AND SOMEHOW I
SEEM TO HAVE DELETED SCANDISC, I DONT HAVE A DISC, ONLY A
RECVERY ONE. I CANT FIND SCANDISC ANYWHERE, I HAVE
RESTORED BACK TO MAY 3RD BUT NO JOY WPOT NOW

Eric, Scandisk does exist. It has been replaced by
chkdsk. Simply open the command prompt window - Start/All
programs/ Accessories/Command Prompt. In the command
prompt window type 'chkdsk' (without the quotes) If you
get a message saying chkdsk cannot run and to schedule a
chkdsk for the next boot up simply accept the option then
restart your pc and your disk will be checked.
