Do you use a user account with administrator priviledges? The current Beta 1
release has problems with limited user account because it does not run as a
system service, but as a process in user mode (this means - with the same
rights as the user has). So try to save the settings using administrative
account.

I am having a similar problem with the scan scheduler.
When a time of, say, 22:00 is selected and confirmed by
pressing the "update shedule" button, the set time then
changes to 09:00 when the ok button is clicked. The same
thing happens with any chosen time beyond 12:00, it just
changes the time to 12-hours previous to the one
selected, meaning that no time beyond 12:00 can be set.
I am logged on with administrator rights.

The scheduler problem is well known and this method should help:

To set a schedule in MSAS:

1. Close MSAS
2. In control panel "Regional and Language Options", button "Customize", tab
"Time", configure a 12-hour AM/PM time format.
3. Open MSAS, configure your desired schedule in 12-hour AM/PM format, click
"Save", close MSAS.
4. In control panel "Regional and Language Options", button "Customize", tab
"Time", re-configure your preferred 24-hour time format.

Then your scheduled event should occur at your desired time, even if the
displayed time in MSAS looks wrong.

i'm not sure what you mean by administrator priviledges.
can you be more specific? how can i tell if i'm using an
administrative account? your further help is appreciated.

I mean user with administrator rights, or in other words -
administrative/administrator account.

Have you tried the possible solution I suggested to Peter? Here it is again:

i did try the solution that you suggested to peter but i
don't believe that has anything to do with my situation.
when i first downloaded the software it worked fine and
the scan scheduler work fine then one day it just stopped
doing the automatic scan. i've tried reinstalling the
software and that does not work either. my settings seem
to be exactly the same as my colleauges and his works
fine. after i've set the desired time and scan options
it reverts back to the original settings and when i re-
open MSAS it says the scheduler is in-active, so i try to
reset it but it never retains my settings. thanks for
your help but i think i'm just going to have to do the
scans manually.

What is your and your friend version of MSAS (Help-> About Microsoft Windows
AntiSpyware.. ) ? Is it the same, newest 1.0.615 release?

Have you tried to repair the MSAS installation? If not, then give it a try
(Control Panel-> Add/remove software-> Microsoft AntiSpyware -> Change->
Update).

K

kristine

we both have the latest version 1.0.615 and yes, i did
remove and reinstall the software.

Hello Kristine,

look here:

Start> Control Panel> Accounts>
there you can see if your a administrator, if not then msas wont allow
you to set those settings.

Try this:

1. Uninstall Microsoft AntiSpyware
2. Delete the directory C:\Program Files\Microsoft AntiSpyware
3. Install Microsoft AntiSpyware
