Quickest way is go to start>allprograms>accessories>command prompt. In the
Command prompt window type: chkdsk and presss Enter.
You may get an error message saying checkdisk cannot access your hard drive
etc. if this happens then you will be asked to schedule the disk check for
the next time you boot your machine. In windows xp scandisk has been
replaced by checkdisk (chkdsk)
