SBS 2003 and W2K - urgent help needed

Hi,

i tried to be very smart and did this:
We have existing Windows 2000 Domain. I bought to our company new server
with SBS 2003. I installed it to same domain (which was the mistake i have
now noticed).

After i tried to demote the old server as member server, but could not. It
says it can't find the domain.

After that i demotet SBS 2003 and run dcpromo again and made it as
additional domain controller to W2K domain. For a while it looked fine. But
after one day there comes messages to W2K server and to clients: "One or more
domain controllers do not meet the licensing requirements. Contact your
administror"
Later it will start to shutdown the SBS 2003 server.

What would be the easiest way to fix my problems? How can i force the
demoting of the W2K server? I tried /forceremoval but it does not work either.

Juha,

As mentioned by Denis, you can't really do things this way. You need to
have SBS in first as the root of the Forest which means installing it as a
stand-alone, promoting it to its own forest/ domain, demoting your other
controller, joining it as a member server, and promoting it as a DC in the
new domain.

The downside is that you'll lose your User and Computer accounts and all of
that. You may want to consider a migration (ADMT). Really your best bet is
to start over with your SBS server as the first and add the other.
Hopefully this isn't impacting your users terribly in the mean time.

If you have any questions, let me know.
