sba/bcm issues

After having read through the documentation I performed the following steps
on this 1 computer:-

Logged in as Administrator

1. Setup a new BCM database.
2. Shared the database giving some other users permissions.
3. Linked it to the SBA file (empty for now) - users have permissions in SBA
also.

Logged in as User

1. Setup BCM by pointing to shared database.
2. I believe I had to re-link to SBA, but that option is greyed out. I had
to go back and give this user admin permissions. Why? That seems overkill.
3. Finally after giving user admin permissions I was able to create
connection to SBA file. I also noticed that everytime I go back to that
screen it does not save the SBA file selection? It reverts to some
older(other) one?
3. Opened SBA and imported Customers from an Access database.
4. Then went into BCM and asked it to Imports Customers from SBA. Nothing
came down. In SBA it shows about 98 customers. Any ideas?

Also, is there no real-time link between BCM and SBA? i.e. if user changes
in 1 place it automatically updates the other?

Also, I gather that it is better to import customers in SBA and then
download into BCM. There is no way to bulk upload from BCM into SBA right?

Finally, I keep getting an error message when opening SBA. "Registration
information was not properly sent. Try again..." What is that? I did fill
out the registration form when I first installed..

TIA!

Was that user an SBA user, with more than SBA read-only permissions?

Works for me, but beyond saying so, this isn't an area I've poked into
too far. After importing from Access to SBA did the SBA Customers all
have their names field populated? Email? Phone? BCM may have some multi
field algorithm to make decisions about what to import. Are SBA
products getting imported into BCM?
Also, is there no real-time link between BCM and SBA? i.e. if user changes

No sync or other way to refresh. At least BCM has a "refresh the
products from SBA" button.
Also, I gather that it is better to import customers in SBA and then

I think the mainstream scenario is that users will import from QB to
SBA and then from SBA to BCM. As you point out this does not cover 100%
of the users out there, especially businesses with all their contacts
in BCM v1 now getting SBA as their first accounting app.
Finally, I keep getting an error message when opening SBA. "Registration
information was not properly sent. Try again..." What is that? I did fill
out the registration form when I first installed..

You'll have to ask an SBA news group.

In general this behavior is what was in the betas last year even though
SBA isn't officially released yet (Is that correct?). My impression is
that BCM did as much as they could in v2 with SBA in the state it was
last year, and then started working on the next version (I'm guessing
that will arrive with the next Office). I expect the next release will
have tighter integration with SBA.
