Why can't I save my document directly onto the CD in drive E. I get a
message telling me I'm not authorized to check with my administrator?
Somebody please help!

You get that message if

a) your CD is not a burner, or
b) your PC is not set up to burn CDs on the fly.

Saving directly from Word to a removable medium is a terrible idea anyway.
Save the file to your hard drive, then use the burning software to copy the
file to the CD.

What did your Administrator say?

That message usually indicates that the Administrator has removed permission
to do that from your user profile. In a high-security location such as the
military or a bank, you might expect "Removable" devices to be disabled. In
other locations, it may simply be that your DLA (Drive Letter Access)
program is not installed.

Cheers
