Saving Movie File as AVI and not WMV

Hi

I want to save my clips in AVI format.

When I save with Save Movie File to My Computer I am getting WMV
format.
When I save with Save Movie File to DV Camera I was hoping to get an
AVI file but instead I am getting an error message "Your DV camera is
not connected to the computer".

So I am still left with question how to save in AVI format.
