Saving mail in different format

I have just started using Outlook as my preferred e-mail. I need to save
copies of many e-mails. I want to save thesein Unicode Message Format, but
when saving the defaule is HTML. Outlook help tells me I can chnage to the
Unicode format by;

On the Tools menu, click Options.
On the Other tab, click Advanced Options.
Select the Use Unicode Message Format when saving messages check box.

But the Unicode Message Format box is already checked

Please do youknow a way around this impasse?

Why do you need to save them externally to Outlook? Just create folders
within Outlook and save them there.
