saving files from ie7 on Vista

When I save a file from the web and put it anywhere on my local drive it is
not visible when I use explorer to locate it. If I try to save it again in
the same place the save dialog tells me the file already exists in this
location. What ever I do I cannot find the files saved. I have swithched on
view hidden files and I have searched the HDD for the file I have saved. I am
not able to see it however I try.

This has been reported to me by a friend also who has the same problem.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had however already done this and still the
search did not find the file.

The difficulty I am having however should not, I would have thought, require
me to do a search for a file everytime I save it from the web. Any ideas why
they are not visible via explorer?
