Saving E-mail in BCM

Guest

I am about to go from a deskto to a laptop. I have backed up my BCM but what
I want to know is, I have some emails that I need to go with me. I have them
in a folder named saved, but this folder is not under the BCM portion but
rather the Personal Folders portion. It says I can't drag and drop so how do
I make sure my personal saved folders go along with me to my laptop. Thanks

Procedure.

1. Your personal folders file on your desktop should be in
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst
2. The fastest way to get there (it's a hidden folder) is to click Start,
Select Run, type in "%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\" including quotation marks and then click on OK. A
folder will open, and one of the files, usually the biggest, will be
Outlook.pst.
3. Take a backup of BCM data using Business Tools -> Database management ->
backup process. Do not confuse this with the export process.
4. Exit Outlook
5. Copy the PST file and the BCM backup file to your laptop
6. Import the PST file into your laptop Outlook
7. Restore the BCM backup

You should be OK at this point. Optionally, you can setup database sharing
with the laptop being the host.
