i have made a database in access and i cannot save it to a cdrw so i can
update it from my laptop does anyone know how to do this so i can update at
home and work.

Sounds like a hardware issue. Are you saying you can't save it at all or
just can't change any data in it after you copy it to the CD? If that is
the case, you must copy it over to your computer and uncheck read only so
you have full access again.

It has to do with the way cdrws work. As I understand, it can't be done
directly. You will need to copy it to your laptop then copy it back.

Hi cadams

I have the very same problem. This is what I have tried.
I run Access and open the file then from the File menu I select 'Back Up
Database' and in 'Save In:' I enter 'CD Drive (E:)' but get the following
message; "Incorrect Function". It is worth noting that I can save other data
files from other applications to the same CDRW in the same CD drive on the
same computer user the same user login, without any problems.
Is this the same problem as yours. Hopefully someone in the group has the
answer.
