Saving attachments in Outlook 2003

When I receive at email with attachments and try to save them using the file
save attachment it always wants to save them as a JPEG. The only way I seem
to be able to save attachments is to click on each individual one and do a
save as. This works but it sure is a pain. Is there a setting I need to
change?

The attachments can be various things from word documents PDF files,
graphics files, etc.
