Saving account data in Outlook 2003

Hello,

I have found out how to export folders in Outlook 2003; I can't seem to find
out how to export account information (account setups). There was an .ief
file in Outlook Express, but I can't seem to find anything comparable in
Outlook.

Thanks in advance for any clues on this.

If you are not using an Exchange account and intend to move your Outlook data
from one Outlook instance to another or you intend to make a backup of your
Outlook data, then do not use Export. See this:

There is nothing comparable in Outlook. It's always best to recreate your
accounts manually, in my opinion.

I thought in Office 2003 there's a "Save My Settings" wizard. I seem to
recall using that to transfer Outlook accounts. Are you saying that using
that is not a good idea?

Provided that one is moving Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2003, there'd be nothing
wrong with that. It won't work for any other condition, though, and there's
not enough in the original post to indicate that's a viable suggestion. One
can modify the control file for the wizard to include the PST, if indeed a PST
is in use (and no indication of that in the OP either), but I still think
manual account creation best.
