SaveAs previous version

I am using Excel 2002. I have a workbook that is about 750 KB. When I save
it as an Excel 95 workbook, the size jumps to 9 MB. When I save it as an
Excel 97 to 2003 workbook, the size jumps to over 10 MB.

Why? How can I prevent the huge size increase?

Hi

This it normal (for want of a better word) when saving as multiple
versions. If possible, just save as "Microsoft Excel Workbook"

When you save a WB in *other* then the version of XL that you're using, XL
saves it in *multiple* versions.
Sort of, to cover all bases, so to speak, since it figures that you're
saving in other versions in order to permit older versions to also access
the WB.

YOU CAN'T ... IF ... you're saving in multiple versions to permit users with
older versions to use it.

If there's no REAL reason for doing this, then just save it in the version
on your machine, as Dave mentioned.
