Save to or burn CDs

Does anyone else have trouble with it taking to long in Vista to burn cds.
I have a Dell with Windows Vista Home Premium with a Roxio Creator DE 10.1
No matter what is says the cds have to be formatted and this takes forever.
I guess this is one of Vista's bad points.
If anyone has found any cure let me know. I have talked to Dell via email
to India and that was usless. Also Microsoft doesn't answer their emails to
well.
I have posted a similar posting earlier but nothing of any substance came up
there.

Only a CD-RW should have to be formatted, for use by packet writing
software.
If you try to format a regular CD, it will be full & unuseable.
What are you trying to write to CD?

Every time you send anything to a disk whether it is pictures or documents,
the screen comes up for it to be formatted. There are two options, mastered
and live file system. You have no options not to format. Either of those
takes for ever and the message on the screen that comes up says it may take a
long time.

BTW... why are you formatting the CDs??
Like I said you have no option. It is probably Vista's format but I don't know that for sure

Use a third-party burning software.
A free one that is very good:
