"Save Target As" downloads cut off before finishing

I've been having a great deal of difficulty with the "save
target as" feature for downloading files. My downloads
will cut off before they finish--especially if the file is
larger than 500kb. Is there anything I can do about
this? I like to download large PDF documents and other
large files to view offline rather than taking my online
time to read/veiw them.

I've installed a download accelerator but they do not
always pick up a file for download depending upon how the
file is placed online.

Any help will be hugely appreciated!

I assume you are using a dialup modem. Download during early in the morning
or late at night. When you are cut off, do not change anything. Reconnect
again and start the download. The download is in the temporary internet
folder. The download sometimes will start up where you left off if you do
not make any other change.
