Save network settings before restore

I need to restore my computer to the origional factory setting using the
restore discs.
How can I save my network connection information before I restore. I will
need all the properties information saved also (I'll never remember all
those numbers!)
If it matters, I have a Sony Vaio Model PCV-RS720G, Windows XP home. Also
have a USB hard drive connected to save the files and info I need.

Other than all the documents, is there any other setting I might need after
the restore?

and of course pen and paper is out of the question since its so low
tech..............
