"Save As Target" is forbidden

Hi all,

When I browse any webpages and right click the mouse, I find that the
option "Save As Target" is forbidden and thus I can't save the pictures. I
think this can be solved by editing the registry setting. Can anyone tell me
how to do this? Thanks a lot !!!

Best wishes,
C.F. Yiu

You're probably talking about some right-click disable script, like the
one here:
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex9/noright2.htm

I assume you're talking about Internet Explorer. Depending on the script
used, there may be any number of ways circumvent image protection. There
are simple ways for simple scripts, but with the one on Dynamic Drive,
try this:

To view the image, your browser has to already have the image, so just
navigate to where the image is. In Windows Explorer, go to C:\Documents
and Settings\[your profile name, if you use profiles]\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Or in IE > Tools > Internet Options > General tab > Settings button >
View Files
Now find the image.
Click on the Internet Address column to alphabetically organize the
files according to the URL. In this case, the URL of the HTML is
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex9/noright2.htm
In the Internet Address column, go to the www's, then find dynamicdrive,
then check the image files, jpg or gif extensions. And you find the pic
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/photo2.jpg

Another way would be to look at the source of the page and then find the
image tag that points to the picture.

For example:
http://house-of-harlot.com/gallery/thumsjss.asp?Artist=Celebrities
In IE > View > Source > typically Notepad will open with the HTML code
for the page > in Notepad, Edit > Find > search for IMG > soon you'll
find something like
Celebrities\thumbs\KellyBrooks$Skin2$000000$Skin2.jpg
This is a relative URL, meaning it's in the same directory on the server
as the HTML file.
Take the URL of the HTML and delete what's after the last slash:

http://house-of-harlot.com/gallery/
Now append the name of the image file

Celebrities\thumbs\KellyBrooks$Skin2$000000$Skin2.jpg

You then have
http://house-of-harlot.com/gallery/Celebrities\thumbs\KellyBrooks$Skin2$000000$Skin2.jpg
(this might be word wrapped a newsgroup message.)

Paste the assembled URL into IE's address window.

This type of behavior is caused from using the Content Advisor via the IE.

Save Target As and Print Target Commands Are Unavailable
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q176316

Added info:

If you have the Content Advisor set/activated for the purpose of restricting
other users and/or profiles, here is a workaround:

Content Advisor On (vb script). Download it and save it to your desktop.
Then place it in the startup folder of the perferred account. Next, download
the Content Advisor Off (vb script) and place it in your startup folder.

Both scripts can be found here: (Row 46)
