I have XP 2002 sp2.
When I want to save a photo to file, the only option is a bitmap. It seems
there use to be other options available under "Save As" tab...How do I
change this??

Thanks...

Hi

Try clearing the Temporary Internet Files folder. Then attempt to save the
files again.

Negative, did not work. It sure cleared out that folder but my only option
under save picture is a .bmp

I stand corrected!! Played around on some other sites and it now has .jpg
options. Clearing the temp internet folder worked. Next question, WHY?? What
does the TIF (temp internet folder) have to do with it??

when the cache gets full IE has a problem managing it. How large do you
have it set to? 50MB is plenty, change max allowed size, clear it, and
problem should not recur.

Jack,

Technical details are here:

why IE will only let you save as BMP:
