"Save as" & File Conversions

G

Gary

When I try to do a "save as" in Word 2002, I get the
following message: "xxxxx.doc may contain features not
compatible with Vietnamese converter format. Do you wish
to save anyway?"

I am trying to "save as" Word 97-2000 &6.0/95 - RTF.doc

I understand thsi format is not actually a >doc format
byut some form of RTF that ONLY Word can understand? Why
is there not a "save as" Word 2002 .doc?

I want the file to be saved as a 2002 Word document with
a .doc file ending. What is appropriate to use as a "save
as" type? The reason I am using "save as" is so I can save
the file in another folder or as diffenet document types.
(Word Perfect, Word 2002, HTML, etc). Is there another,
better way?

How can I dump the Vietname and Thai converters from the
save as menu?

Thanks to any who have answers for me.

Hi Gary,

If you Save As "Word document (*.doc)" then you get a Word
document. This file format is the basically the same for Word
97 through 2003, so there are no version numbers for *.doc
files for these versions.
