Save and Save as replaced by Update and Save Copy As

In Word 2003 on Windows XP ... all documents that are opened do not have the
option to "Save" or "Save As...". Instead it shows "Update" and "Save Copy
As" where Save and Save As should be.

Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
 
Is this possibly on a system you've inherited in the office? It sounds like
someone has customized the menu or (as a guess) you may have a different
language version of Word - perhaps one of the other English variations.

Unfortunately, no. This is a machine that has been running office without
issue for quite some time. And it is company issued machine/software,
standard across every machine.
I guess it is possible that the menu was customised, but the user is not
exactly compuer literate and would've had to have done it by mistake ... and
where would that have been done??
