SATA Driver Install During Text Mode Setup??

Scott

Hello,
I am trying to install my SATA driver during text-mode
Setup. When Windows pauses briefly and prompts to press
F6...I press F6 and nothing happens. If I press it over
and over the mother board beeps but setup does not
respond. Setup does respond when I press F2 when prompted
to do so to access Automated System Recovery.

I am installing WIN XP Pro onto a Western Digital SATA
120g hard drive and connected to an Asus A7N8X Deluxe
motherboard.

Any suggestions?
Thanks
Scott

You need to get the drivers from the cd that came with your motherboard and
put it on a floppy.

The details should be on your CDROM

Thank you for the reply,
Unfortunately, setup does not allow me to even look for
the file. When it asks for me to press F6 in order to
access the option, absolutely nothing happens when I press
F6. The message just stays on the screen for the normal
amount of time before moving on to the next option message.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Scott

My SATA drive install went like this.

Plug it in.
Set cmos to enable SATA
Boot computer.
Use xp to partition & format.
Done.
