Hi!

I have a new Seagate 400GB SATA disk that I am trying to install WinXP Home
on. The disk is recognised by the WinXP installation system, and I select it
to install Windows on. It copies the files across, but when I reboot I get
the message 'Missing operating system.'

Does anyone have any ideas why this may be? I have tried using the disk in
a working operating system, and it recognises and uses it correctly. It is
only when I try to install an operating system on it that it goes wrong.

I would really appreciate any help you can give,

Daniel

Furthermore, if you have more than one HD, you have to
set the boot order in the BIOS.

The boot order, in bios is correct? Some mobos require a specific boot up
for sata disks.
Perhaps you need F6 to install Sata/Raid drivers from floppy, during the
winxp installation.
You would need to read your mobo bumph
