SASW Manual Updates

For modem users.

SuperAntiSpyware seems to have provided a link and instructions on how to
manually update their Defs:

http://www.superantispyware.com/definitions.html

So we can download them when we have high speed access (like at work) and
bring them home to our modem machines. Since they update very often (daily
sometimes) this could save us some bandwith.

NB: This is FYI ONLY.
This is not an endorsement of this product.
It is Still in testing stage for me.
I Still think daily updates is a "gimmick"

?:)

This is on Hold.

I cannot confirm that it is working as indicated.
The version numbers do not change after the manual update.
If you check for updates after the manual update it still downloads the
database from the web.

In order to trust this method of update there needs to be a confirmable
change which I cannot find. Also, I am not sure if the download needs to be
unzipped manually or if the program does it itself.

Anyone got any facts?

The web page has been updated.
You DO need to unzip the manually downloaded defs.
SASW says that the next version will be able to indicate that the manually
downloaded files have been updated.
