Sansa 1 Gig Mp3 Player

My computer will not recognize the Sansa "Play for Sure" device. I connect
it to another computer and it is identified as the Sansa m240 without a
hitch. On my computer it shows up with a drive letter and removable device.
I have worked with Napster and Sandisk with no luck. I am running WMP10 and
have performed all applicable updates. Ideas?

Is the USB setting of your device set to MTP mode? I think I may be having a
similar problem. When my Sansa m250 is set to MSC mode, it shows up on my
laptop as removable storage device. When set to MTP mode, it shows up under
device manager, but not in Windows Media Player or in My Computer. When I
try it on my desktop and other laptop (in MTP mode) it works fine.

I am having the exact same problem with my m240. Works fine on my
wife's XP Home laptop (dell inspiron 6000), but my dell inspiron 6000
(win xp pro sp2) doesn't work. I've uninstalled/reinstalled wmp10
twice, re/re the drivers for the sansa device, every update known to
man, the mtp patch for wmp10, upgraded the firmware, etc... Nothing. I
have a support ticket open with Sandisk about the issue, but I don't
expect it to come to anything useful.
