Sandra's "Limited Account" Cannot Access Internet

Paul Thomas

Sandra has a "Limited Account" on my PC and I have
a "Computer Administrator" account. As of yesterday
Sandra receives the message "The page cannot be
displayed.." whenever she attempts to access any web
site. When I log on I can access any web site as usual.
Only when I change Sandra's account type to "System
Administrator" is she able to access web sites. I haven't
found a troubleshooter that addresses this particular
problem.
Any thoughts?

I have a similar problem, the administrator account can
initialize and use IE, but restricted accounts cannot and
generate a missing file error. I felt this would be a
share problem (Operating systems in use are Win 2000 and
XP)and made some modification to user rights, I did not
give the non-administrative account administrative rights.
I need a solution also.

I find the timing of this interesting. We run regular
updates for our OS and virus checks. Is this an update
problem? I recently ran an update on an XP system that
caused the operating system to start to a point (blue
screen before Ctrl-Alt-Del logon) then shut down and
reboot. Eventually the drive was trashed.

HijackThis (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip) is the
preferred tool to use these days. It will help to both identify and remove
any hijackware/spyware. **Post your files to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/, not here.**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.
