Cannot Access Hotmail Account or Secure Pages

My sister-in-law moved from a DSL connection to a dial-up. After that she
could no longer access her Hotmail account or any secure site. She didn't
change anything on her computer other than the type of access she had. She
has 128-bit IE 6.0 with SP2. What is the problem? Message is Page cannot be
displayed.
Thanks.

Hi Candie :)

Check the following information and see if it helps. If she has chacnged
from broadband to Dialup, there will likely need to be some connection
changes required.

Instructions for Internet Explorer 6 Users
1. Select Tools.
2. Select Internet Options.
3. Select the Connection tab.
4a. If you use a modem, in the Dial-up Settings box, you should see a small
icon with the name of your dial-up connection. Click once on the icon to
highlight and then click on the button on the right called "Settings" it.
4b. If you are on a network, or use cable modem or DSL, click on "Lan
Settings" not "dial-up".
5. Under Automatic Configuration area, put a check mark in each of the boxes
next to "Automatically detect settings" and "Use automatic configuration
script."
6. In the space where it says address, enter this URL:
http://nucat.lib.neu.edu:8080/proxy.pac
7. Click on OK then OK again on the Internet Options menu.
8. Shut down Internet Explorer, then restart it.
