Samsung DVD takes more than 1 minute to recognize the DVD-R writen by itself

Hi,

I have this samsung DVD writer coems with my HP A1630N. It does this
weired thing:
I burn a DVD-R disk(full of data) and put the same disk which was
writen by itself back to the driver. The machines takes more than 1
minute to recognize this disk and then allow me to do anything else.
Is it the normal behavire of a regular DVD-writer?
It doesn't happen to the DVD+RW (which was filled with the same data
content.
And by the way this writer supportes almost all the format: dvd+/-/R/
RW/RAM/DL. Could that be the reason for it's slow motion?

Thanks,
Feng

Thanks for your advise!
I am using Taiyo Yuden DVD-R. Everybody else says it's very good. It
seems I am the only one havng this problem. Too bad.
Yesteday I was using Single Session Option, it took me 1 minute to
access the DVD-R.
Today I used Multiple Session Optopn, it got better and only took me
15 seconds to access the DVD-R(although it's still far slower then any
other DVD-reader I have ever used.
