hi!
this is driving me crazy. i have a document which is 47 pp. on my computer
and 42 on everybody's else. using garamond 11.5, double spaced, 1 inch margin
and after many checks to verify if there was anything different btw my copy
and the one i emailed to three different people (who all open it at 42 pages)
we noticed that their versions have about 3.5 additional single spaced lines
per page. this is due to the font taking up more space on my pc than on
others (checked using grid vision), so that i see about 1 to 2 words less per
line. tried switching to calibri 15, just to try, and mine and other
computers have same number of letters/words per line.

now, i want/need to use garamond. so, i tried reinstalling all garamond
fonts, no dice. tried re-installing office enterprise (in case it
loaded/embedded fonts at first run), no dice either. what can i do???

thanks!

same office, so we used the same printer driver. plus, as i mentioned:

- original version (garamond 11.5): the word doc on my machine had one to
two words less per page than the one on the machine i was comparing it to

- then we changed to calibri 15 and there were exactly the same number of
words/characters on one line, on both machines. if the printer driver was the
culprit we should have seen the same problem once we switched the font, no?

as i said, reinstalling the garamond fonts first, then office later, did not
make any difference.

any leads? thanks in advance!

If you are using different computers, even with the same printer, you may
very well have different drivers. If any machine is running a different OS,
you are assuredly using different drivers. You can still reduce the
discrepancy using the tips in the article.
