Dear Sir/Madam,

I have just found that "Safely Remove Hardware" icon is missing in the
system tray.

How can i get it back?

I have checked the "Taskbar and Start Menu", there is NO "Safely Remove
Hardware" inside for me to set to let it "Always show".

I am running Windows XP, using a USB mouse and a USB writing panel.

Many many thanks.

Hi,

Other than the normal checkpoints, if you have Zone Alarm installed, check
their forums.

We need one of those "safely remove hardware"/"safely install hardware"
things when folks take their PC cover off. Sure, there is a led on many
motherboards telling you it's on but.... just kidding here a little,
instead of just a small led it should be this big led sign that says
"pull out the plug mr tech before you mess with my insides".

Of course many pcs have a switch in the back to completely shut off the
PC but...

It has probably got the idea that you do not unplug these, so the system
has quietly decided not to supply Safely Remove. It would probably
reappear if you boot without the Panel and plug it in again 'hot' in a
different port
