safely remove hardware icon is gone

Please help me, I use my digital camera all the time. The last time the box
popped up that said safely remove hardware I clicked to fast and now the icon
is gone! I don't know how to get it back. When I plug my camera in the screen
pops up in windows explorer, instead of asking which program I want to
use...not sure what I did.

Never mind I just figured it out...in case someone else does this, go to My
Computer right click on the removable drive then hardware find your camera
click on it. Under properties click optimize performance and wala the icon is
back!

Hi there, glad to hear you got it fixed. Does that also work to remove the
icon from startup? That's the first thing that loads everytime I start my
computer, and it makes it take too long to boot. Thanks.

You can go to your task bar menu and set it up only to show when it is
active, or you can go to the properties then hardware, right click on your
camera select properties and under the policies tab make sure that the
optimize for quick removal is selected....not sure if that will work, but it
might.
