safe senders still go to "junk e-mail"

An email address in the safe sender's list still goes to the "junk
e-mail" folder.

We're using exchange 2003 and outlook 2003. The email address is
entered in as a (e-mail address removed) and as a *@domain.com format. This is
occurring to multiple users, and is not a single user problem.

Any ideas for a solution?

are you using spam filtering on the exchange server?

Using an asterisk in the Safe Sender list is incorrect. The Safe Sender
list does not recognize wildcards. Remove the askerisk. When you click the
Add button on the Safe Senders tab, it will show you the allowed forms.

Yes, I am using spam filtering on the exchange server. It is Symantec
Security for exchange, set up for a RBL and a basic "heuristic antispam
engine". I'm awaiting the licensing information for the "Symantec
Premium Antispam" (powered by Brightmail), but it's currenty not
enable-able.

I will remove the askerisk.

Try disabling that on a temporary basis to see if it's contributing.
