safe mode

i need to get into the safe mode as i cant acces the pc,
when its booting i keep tapping f8 but i get a screen
asking me to select the boot device, thanks for any help.

Sounds like your tapping the F8 key too soon, select boot from HD and then start
tapping the F8 key again. If you're having difficulty, for an alternative
