Safe Mode

Guys I have a serious problem that I hope someone on here can help me with. I
had a hijacker on my computer and I was trying to start my computer in safe
mode by rebooting. It would not start in safe mode. So I went to msconfig
through windows and clicked the "safeboot" box under boot.ini. I then
rebooted and was hoping it would go to safe mode. Now my computer will not
start in safe mode and because I checked the box "safeboot" in the msconfig
box I can not get it to start in normal mode either. My question is how can I
get my computer back to windows where I can uncheck this box? Or is there a
way to go through dos or the bios to bypass the msconfig boot.ini? Any help
would be appreciated Thanks.

Read this if you are using Nero CD Burning.

Read this for forcing SAFE BOOT and what is done when you chose that option:

You solution, I believe, would be to modify your boot.ini file and remove
the SAFEBOOT option(s) so that you can reboot in normal mode.

The BIOS has nothing to do with Windows boot-up sequences.

Once you get into Windows XP in Normal Mode, I would backup your data, and
use the recovery disk to repair Windows.

Not an expert here, but sounds like you need to do a 'repair install."

Other suggestions are welcome.

BTW, to do an "repair install", boot with the XP CD in the CD drive,
and follow the prompts.

Good luck!
