I am trying to start my computer in safe mode in order to
turn off "System Restore". I have XP and two user
accounts. I need to log on as an Administrator but every
attempt I've made to do this has failed. I cannot access
the drop down menu that allows me to turn off "System
Restore". What do I do? H E L P !!!

you don't need to go into Safe Mode just ot turn off
System Restore...

....go to My com[puter - Properties - System Restore Tab

The Virus won't give me access to "My Computer".
It keeps coming back "Windows cannot find .."

I suggest running the fix programs (the one from Symantec worked for me) and
then later fix System Restore (see the thread "how to restore System
Restore" about then threads earlier than this thread.
