safe mode stops

When I boot into safe mode it stops on GRFilter.sys I wait and nothing
happens, I then have to shut down using pc button. I have run , from the
recovery mode at least six chkdsk /r/f, each time it says it finds one or 2
errors and fixes them. I cannot figure this out. I have run all my virus
scans, McAfee,spyware programs l come up clean each time. Also on boot, I see
a blue screen saying-checking c, cannot access file NTFS, then it boots into
the normal window startup. I have done a new repair from cd home edition,
even took out a few programs that were the last installed, so far everything
is ok except for the startup screen, which I can live with, however I would
like to be able to go to safe mode if I had to.

All CHKDSK does is creates and displays a status report for the disk.

The chkdsk commands will correct errors on the disk.

If you are saying that the command is finding and correcting the errors
all the time then this only means one thing. The HD is faulty. I would
change it immediately before reinstalling the OS.
