Safe Mode hangs

Win XP Home

I just survived a trojan hijacking involving 5 files
which were ID'd and killed. Some registry damage may
have occurred and/or compromised by the Trojans. Now my
computer boots normally but SAFE mode hangs.

Because this was an OEM XP MS will not provide free
support (its only one month old!!!), and I am not
thrilled with having to return to the shop that installed
it.

Chuck, if your computer boots normally I wouldnt worry about it. You
probably didnt wait long enough.
Sometimes Safe Mode takes awhile to load.
