Safe Mode boot up

Trying to boot with safe mode when I get stuck at system32\drivers\agp440.sys
and it "hangs." Is there a way to BYPASS this and or force it to continue!?
I tried Last Known Good and Normal, and neither will work, Normal will
"hang." I copied this hard drive from another one as it was bad, and I did a
checkdisk /p /r on it to fix the OS and find / recover bad sectors and I did
a defrag, but still having trouble.

If the OS load on this drive came from a bad drive, it is likely corrupt.
There is no way to force it to boot if it won't boot. You will probably have
to do a repair install.

Interesting comment by Chris Quirke:

"Agp440.sys loads after mup.sys, and either can be the last visible (in
Safe) load before a long silent bit when the OS does whatever comes
next. Anything that dies in this silent phase, can appear to be a
consequence of agp440.sys or mup.sys ".

Hope this helps.
