I just bought a Toshiba Satellite 250, and I cannot get a
signal out of the S-video out port. Is there something in
the XP display settings where I have to configure/activate
this? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks,
Eddie

I configured the computer so that the S-video out is
working, but now the signal is only in black and white...
Does anyone know what's going on now?

Thanks,
Eddie

Did Toshiba forget to ship a manual with the computer?

No, the manual is an on-line version. I searched all
throughout it, and it doesn't talk about the s-video
outout. Do you actually have an answer for my question?

No, but I know how to find out. Be a little creative with a
search of the on-line manual, look for terms such as ;
video, graphics, ports, television. If that is unfruitful
does Toshiba have an 800 tech support number?

Hi,

Check the drivers you're using, and that the utility you're using for the
S-Vid Out is the 'right' one for the card. Also try a different TV (or
whatever you're using) and check there isn't a prob with the TV - I've had
SCART probs like that before.

One point is that you will most probably have to use a screen resolution
that is compatible with TV standards. 640x480, though it might work
with 800x600 in countries with 625 line TV standards. If you choose
that resolution it will probably use PAL color, which again would not
work correctly with a 525 line NTSC TV
