S/sheet slow on fast computer - fast on slower computer ?!

I really need some help !!!!

I've a big s/sheet - some 40mb in size (lots of formulae, data etc)
that up until a few weeks back has been working fine on my laptop
(1.2ghz). Then all has gone down hill. The s/sheet is taking
significanlty longer to calculate - and simple cut and paste
operations take +1 minute.....the annoying bit....on either our home
computer - or an identical laptop (inspiron 4150) - the s/sheet
doesn't exhibit the same problems - calculations are fast - cut and
paste isn't an issue.

I've installed all the latest patches - re-installed (Excel 2002 SP3)
- and still the same problem.....yet the same s/sheet behaves fine on
the same or indeed lower spec computer.....I'd expect some drop in
performance due to the size and complexity of the s/sheet - but can't
understand why it should behave so drastically different on identical
laptops !?!?!?!?!?

Please please help !!

you could try one or more of: emptying the Temp directory, clearing
Temporary Internet Files and perhaps defragmenting your hard disk.

That is much too BIG. Sooner or later it quite possible the Workbook
will corrupt.

Thanks for the links, I've fallen into some obvious mistakes making
the spreadsheet larger than necessary. It's down to 25mb with a
couple of hours work.
