Hi all,

I have recently installed wonder eye desktop web camera
cp115pc and using software from iVisit to run the thing.

This moring when i went to run windows update i received
the following notice: tcp32shlp Microsoft Visual C++
Runtime Library Buffet overrun.

I contacted iVists help desk and they cannot detect
anywrong from their or my side that would be causing this
message to appear. They suggested to talk to MS.

I am using an XP home.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou for your cryptic response to my query, but, you
have totally missed the point. As this is (as I
understood) a forum where one can discuss/seek answers to
questions from those, whom willingly give up their time
and knowledge to educate us mere mortals, who struggle
with concepts et all computers.

As this forum specifically discussed security issues you
missed the opportunity to discover that this particular
problem I was encountering was in fact a new type of
virus. I have since discovered on a Goggle search other
users having the same problem. It is also on that
particular site I found helpful comments on how to
address the problem at large.

I notice the you have MVP before you name and I have no
doubt the diligence and effort you have put into gaining
the knowledge enabling you this display this badge of
excellence.

Finally, if your going to give your valuable time and
knowledge, make the reply relevant, rather than a cryptic
response to an already floundering fellow computer user
who has not gained anything from the experience of
posting a query on this forum.

Look up "buffet"

I posted to the subject line, before reading this:

Buffer overrun, surely?

So far, my post and the reply I'm responding to are the only posts I
see in the thread, so while I'm glad you detected and presumably
killed the malware that was causing this, I can't read up the results.

The newsgroups I read amount to around 2000+ headers a day, of which I
read several, and reply to some. Most of the replies are either
direct assistance, or are general discussion; once in a while I may
attempt a bit of humour instead. Sorry if you don't like that.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my query, I
will in future ensure the correct spelling (buffet -
buffer) to ensure my query is put forward in a way it can
be addressed without leaving myself open to riddicule.
