Runtime Error

I receive an error message when I attempt to access some
interactive sites. It is as follows:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library; Runtime Error.
C:\programfiles\internetexplorer\Iexplore.exe

I have done the following to remedy problem but they
haven't worked: repair and reinstall IE; download latest
version of Java; download and install DirectX9.0. Any
other suggestions would be appreciated.
