Runtime error - Windows Explorer

I got the following Message and no idea what to do:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error!
Program:C:\Windows\explorer.exe This application has requested the runtime
to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support
team for more information.
As a result I can't:
- Click to open any folder on My Documents or My Pictures even in an
External Drive, but I can click to Explore the same Folders
- Also I can't create a Restore Point to a previous day;
I'm totally lost and need help

Start with the malware issue. Have you done a thorough scan for malware
using a combination of programs in safe mode and have a good up to date
AV program that you use regularly in safe mode and are using a firewall?

Thank you Rock but it didn't work
1 - I use McAffee both as AV and Firewall up to date. Scan done, no resukts
2 - I checked with Ad-Adware, Spybot, Spython and Windows Defender
everything is OK
The problems however remains the same.
Any more ideas, please?

Does it happen in safe mode? If not the try some clean boot
troubleshooting.
