For users of a A2K applications that do not
have Access 2000 installed on their machines,
where do they go to get a copy of the Access
Runtime code, which like the various viewers
I assume is free from MS.

Thanks,
Bill

Access does not have free "viewers" like Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc.

AFAIK, the only legal means of obtaining Access Runtime is by
1) Purchasing the appropriate "Developer's Tools", which have been called
various things over the years:
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/developereditionversions.htm
Developers Tools include the Access Runtime and a royalty-free license to
distribute the Runtime with applications developed by the owner.

2) Be the receipient of an application developed by the owner of a
Developer's Tools, who has distributed the Access Runtime along with their
application.

HTH,

Thanks George. I had a suspicion that I was wrong about there
being a free runtime environment.

Thanks Oliver. As I said to George, I had a suspicion that
I was wrong about there being a free runtime environment.
Bill

Well, it is free. You just have to pay a developer for a Runtime App first.
:-)
